Hop on board a round-trip train ride from Flemington, NJ, to Ringoes, NJ, for an egg hunt!

Celebrate the arrival of Spring with Black River & Western Railroad! Easter Bunny Express is a fan favorite that you won’t want to miss. Complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt at our Ringoes Station picnic grove, we guarantee that passengers will make cherished memories and experience the joy of Easter.

NOTE: As of September 24, 2025, Flemington Station is NOT accessible via the north end (closer to Mine Street) of Stangl Road due to construction. Please use the south end (closer to Route 12) of Stangl Road to access Flemington Station, and allow for extra travel time. We appreciate your patience during this temporary routing adjustment.

Features
  1. A round-trip train ride from Flemington, NJ to Ringoes, NJ and return.
  2. Join the egg hunt at Ringoes Picnic Grove (weather permitting). Please limit children to approximately 5 eggs and bring a bag or other container to collect your eggs in.
  3. Meet Peter Cottontail aboard the train for a brief photo-op.
Additional Information
  • What happens if it rains?
    • The train operates rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, eggs will be distributed on board the train instead of an egg hunt.
  • Alcohol 
    • Alcoholic beverages ARE NOT permitted on board the train UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. The train crew has the right to inspect any baggage or coolers a guest brings on board the train. Any disruptive behavior resulting from alcohol consumption will be addressed by train staff and may result in removal from the train without a refund. 
  • Restrooms 
    • Note: RESTROOMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN OR NEAR FLEMINGTON STATION. 
    • Limited restroom facilities are available on board the train for emergency situations only. Ask a member of our staff for assistance. 
    • Restrooms are available at Ringoes Station on the lower level. Baby changing tables are provided in the men’s and women’s restrooms.  Guests must be able to climb down a staircase to access the restrooms.
  • Assigned Seating Policy
    • All passengers must sit in the seat indicated on their tickets. Seat assignments ensure a smooth boarding process and help us to provide the best possible experience for every guest on board. Failure to comply with the assigned seating policy may result in removal from the train without a refund.
  • Bag Policy 
    • We highly recommend leaving your large bags at home or in the car for this excursion, as space on board our historic train is limited. Strollers and baby car seats are NOT recommended for this excursion. The lighter you pack, the more enjoyable your experience will be!
  • Animal Restriction Policy
    • For the comfort and safety of all guests, pets and emotional support animals are not permitted on the Santa Express train ride. Only trained service animals are permitted on this experience, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and New Jersey Law.
    • If you would like to ride the train with your pet, pets are permitted on Black River Limited excursions during the summertime.
  • Attire 
    • Holiday attire is encouraged! While the train will be heated (depending on the day’s forecast), some areas, such as the train stations, are exposed to outdoor weather. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for winter weather and the day’s forecast. 
    • Clothing with offensive language or graphics, excessively ripped or torn clothing, and inappropriate or revealing attire are prohibited. 
  • Power 
    • All departures are powered by one of our vintage diesel-electric locomotives. We reserve the right to substitute motive power at any time for any reason and without advance notice. 
  • Duration 
    • The duration listed reflects the total time between departures. The actual experience time will be slightly shorter to allow for schedule adjustments and other operational considerations.
