Role
Seasonal Entertainment Staff work alongside train crews and other staff during seasonal events, such as Christmas and Easter trains. Entertainers’ primary goal is to provide guests with a pleasant and engaging experience during their visit. Entertainers report to the President or their designee.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming, friendly, and engaging experience for guests. Present a bubbly, warm, and fun persona to help guests feel the holiday spirit. You must be a “people person” to succeed in this role.
- Interact with guests of all ages.
- Become familiar with the current train or event being operated, so you can answer questions and offer basic guidance to guests. Example: Where is the gift shop? What time does the train depart?
- Assist with event activities, including guest flow and other operational needs, such as the following during our Christmas events:
- Lead a designated storybook aloud to a large group of guests on board a moving train in a warm and engaging manner.
- Lead a sing-along of one or two familiar Christmas songs (such as “Jingle Bells”) on board a moving train.
- Help guests pose for group photos with Santa inside Ringoes Station. This includes taking photos with a provided tablet computer device (such as an iPad).
- Follow event procedures, schedules, safety guidelines, and instructions from supervisors, including the Conductor when on board the train.
- Work collaboratively with train crew, other event staff, and volunteers.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional event environment in front-of-house and back-of-house.
- Perform other event-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation to Ringoes and Flemington, NJ.
- Must have strong communication and customer-service skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
- Must have weekend availability. Almost all of our train rides are on the weekend.
- Must be over the age of 18.
- Must be comfortable working and riding on board a moving train and in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Wear appropriate attire as directed (festive clothes are encouraged).
