The Liberty Limited is a classic round-trip excursion through rural Hunterdon County between Flemington and Ringoes. A special celebratory ticket rate of $17.76 per adult and $2.50 per child (ages 3 through 11) will be automatically applied to your ticket purchase. As always, kids under 3 ride for free! Guests will receive America-themed trinket giveaways, one per person, while supplies last.

Highlights of Your Journey:

  • Cross the historic 3rd Neshanic Trestle, soaring 40 feet above the river, and keep an eye out for local wildlife like deer and birds.​
  • Pass by “Hog Town,” a nod to the area’s colorful past, and glimpse Pumpkin Junction at Everitt Farms.
  • Receive an America-themed trinket giveaway item, while supplies last.

Restrooms

Note: Restrooms are not available in or near Flemington Station.

Limited restroom facilities are available on board the train for emergency situations only and are not guaranteed. Ask a member of our staff for assistance.

Restrooms are available at Ringoes Station in the lower level of the station. Baby changing tables are provided in the men’s and women’s restrooms.

Power

All departures are powered by one of our vintage diesel-electric locomotives. We reserve the right to substitute motive power at any time for any reason and without advance notice.

Dogs

Well-behaved, leashed dogs are invited to ride the Black River Limited train at the conductor’s discretion. We do ask that pet parents please make every effort to clean up after their pet for the convenience of our train crew. We recommend bringing a towel for your pet to sit on, along with other necessary supplies.

*Dogs are welcome aboard the Liberty Limited; however, guests are fully responsible for their pets at all times. Black River & Western Railroad and its affiliates are not responsible for any injury, illness, loss, escape, damage, or incident involving a pet while on railroad property or aboard the train. By bringing a dog, guests agree to keep their pet leashed, well-behaved, and under control at all times, and to accept full responsibility for any damage, cleanup, or injury caused by their pet. Black River & Western Railroad reserves the right to deny boarding to any dog or ask that a dog be removed from the train or property if the dog is disruptive, aggressive, not properly controlled, or otherwise poses a safety concern, at the discretion of railroad staff.

Service animals are not considered pets and are permitted in all areas where customers are allowed.
